Two minutes on why she is running, and what Ward 1 needs from its next Regional & City Councillor.

Meet Nadea

A stronger voice. A community advocate. A champion for affordability.

Nadea Clarke believes Ward 1 residents deserve a representative who listens to the community, understands the challenges residents face, and is willing to stand up for them.

Oshawa is her home — Nadea has lived here for several years, and her commitment to the city didn’t begin with an election campaign. She brings experience in community advocacy, civic engagement and educational leadership to her campaign for Regional & City Councillor.

Our Priorities

Ward 1 is growing. Real representation for your concerns.

Five priorities, each with a clearly different purpose.

01

Affordability

Every dollar matters.

Every municipal decision affects someone’s household budget. Nadea will keep affordability at the centre of decisions on property taxes, municipal fees and service levels.

02

Responsible Municipal Spending

Strong services. Careful spending. Measurable value.

Value for every tax dollar. Responsible spending means setting priorities, examining costs and ensuring public money produces measurable community value.

03

Community Representation

Representation starts with listening.

Your voice, perspective and concerns matter. Representation is not a once-every-four-years relationship — it is an ongoing one between the councillor’s office and the community.

04

Stronger Ward 1 Advocacy

Responsible growth for Ward 1.

Ward 1 is growing, and infrastructure must keep pace — roads, transit, parks, sidewalks and safe crossings, balanced with respect for the greenbelt and farming communities.

05

Accountability & Transparency

Honest, clear communication.

Plain-language summaries of important votes, updates on concerns raised by residents, and honesty about what can and cannot be achieved.

The full platform

Each priority, the evidence behind it, and what Nadea can advocate for versus what requires Council or other agencies to act.

Passion for community service

Her commitment didn't begin with a campaign

Since 2024, Nadea has been actively involved with the City of Oshawa’s Community Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, contributing to community engagement, inclusion and representation. She now serves as Vice-Chair.

In 2025, alongside the committee, she facilitated Oshawa’s first Equity and Inclusion Forum, where residents and community leaders were given a platform to voice their concerns. As Vice-Chair she presented those concerns to City Council.

On the record: Nadea’s delegation to Oshawa City Council — view the meeting record.

In November 2024, before becoming a candidate, she made a delegation to Oshawa City Council on the proposed 2025 budget, opposing the proposed property-tax increase and advocating for affordability.

Ward 1

Growth that works for the people already here

Oshawa is developing rapidly. New communities need proper infrastructure in place before owners move in — traffic signs, sidewalks and safe school bus stops are safety necessities, not finishing touches.

Responsible growth

Better coordination between development approvals and the infrastructure that has to support them, with meaningful consultation before significant decisions.

Roads and safety

Safe sidewalks, crossings and traffic-safety measures, and transportation improvements that reflect how Ward 1 is actually changing.

Greenbelt and farmland

Growth balanced with respect for the greenbelt, farming communities and rural hamlets.
