Help fund a campaign that knocks on doors
Contributions pay for the ordinary, unglamorous things that let a local campaign reach every part of Ward 1.
What your contribution pays for
A municipal campaign runs on small, practical costs.
Lawn signs and printing
Signs, flyers and door hangers — plus the stakes, and the volunteers’ fuel to deliver and collect them.
Reaching every household
Printed material for parts of the ward that campaign volunteers cannot reach on foot.
Community events
Room hire, accessibility provision and refreshments for town halls and listening sessions.
Before you contribute
The rules, in plain language
Municipal campaign contributions in Ontario are regulated, and the rules bind both the campaign and you. Here is everything that applies before you give.
This is the campaign’s plain-language summary. Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and the City of Oshawa Clerk’s office govern — where anything here differs from them, they are right and we are wrong.
$1,200
Your limit for this campaign
The most one individual may give to Nadea in total — money and the value of any donated goods or services combined.
$5,000
Across candidates for the same council
A combined ceiling if you also support other candidates running for the same council or school board. Not a province-wide limit.
$25
Above this, no cash
Anything over $25 must be paid by a method that identifies you — a cheque or a qualifying electronic payment.
Who can contribute
- Individuals normally resident in Ontario.
- You do not need to live in Oshawa, or in Ward 1.
- The money must be your own.
Who cannot
- Corporations.
- Trade unions.
- Any other organization or group.
- Anyone giving money that someone else has reimbursed or will reimburse.
The $1,200 limit is cumulative
It covers everything you give across the whole campaign — online, by cheque, in person, and the value of any donated goods or services. If you have already contributed another way, that counts towards the same $1,200. Please tell the campaign, because an online form cannot see a cheque you posted last month.
Before you decide
Three things worth knowing first
Over $100 becomes public
If your contributions to this campaign total more than $100, your name, address and the amount must be listed in the campaign’s financial statement filed with the City Clerk. That statement is a public document.
This is a legal requirement, not a campaign choice, and it applies however you give. We would rather you knew it before contributing than discovered it afterwards.
Your receipt
Every contribution gets a receipt. Yours will show:
- A unique receipt number.
- Nadea’s name, the office sought and the election year.
- Your full name and residential address.
- The date received, the amount and the payment method.
- A description and value of any non-monetary contribution.
- A statement that it is not an income-tax receipt.
What we’ll ask you for
The form collects everything the law requires the campaign to record, and asks you to confirm your eligibility before you pay:
- Your full name, residential address and email.
- Confirmation that you are normally resident in Ontario.
- Confirmation that the money is your own and has not been reimbursed.
- Confirmation that this contribution keeps you within the $1,200 limit.
No tax credit. Municipal campaign contributions are not income-tax deductible and do not qualify for the provincial or federal political contribution tax credits.
The campaign also has to track contributions across every channel, so that cheques, cash and online payments are counted together against your limit.
Contribute to the campaign
Contributions are processed securely by Stripe. The campaign never sees or stores your card details.
Before you contribute, please read the rules above — Ontario limits who may give and how much, and contributions over $100 become public.
Paying safely
This is the only place this campaign will ever ask you to enter card details, and payment is handled by Stripe — check your browser shows nadeaclarke.com before you type anything. Nobody from this campaign will ask for card or banking details by email, by phone or at your door. If someone does, it is not us.
Every contribution is receipted. Your receipt shows a unique receipt number, the amount, the date and the payment method, and states plainly that it is not an income-tax receipt. If a contribution turns out not to be permitted under Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the campaign will return it.
Your information
Contribution records are handled differently from everything else on this site. Where the law requires the campaign to record, retain or report contributor information, it will — and this page will say so plainly before you contribute, not afterwards.
Contribution records and disclosure
The Nadea Clarke Campaign collects and retains contributor information to issue receipts and meet Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act, 1996 requirements. If your combined contributions exceed $100, your name, address and contribution details must be included in the campaign’s financial statement, which is publicly available through the City of Oshawa.
Required campaign financial records will be retained until at least November 15, 2030. Please see our Privacy Notice for more information.
Questions about contributing
Nadea is personally responsible for her campaign’s finances and files her financial statement with the City Clerk. Questions about contributing can be sent to info@nadeaclarke.com.

Rather ask first?
If you would prefer to talk before contributing — about giving by cheque, about your limit, or about anything on this page — send a note instead. This form does not take a payment.
